OUR APPROACH

Clear thinking.
Connected follow-through.

The work should leave you with a clearer decision, a usable plan and a shared understanding of what happens next.

01 / UNDERSTAND

Start with what needs to work.

Define the people served, the service model, the financial realities and the decision you need to make. Understand where the project stands before recommending the next step.

  • Program goals and operating constraints
  • Budget, timing and capacity
  • Partners and decision-makers
02 / DEFINE

Make the scope useful.

Agree on deliverables, responsibilities, fees and review points in a written proposal and contract. Identify the technical specialists and owner approvals the work depends on.

  • Included work and exclusions
  • Who provides what
  • How decisions and changes are approved
03 / EVALUATE

Put real options on the table.

Bring operating assumptions, alternatives and supplier proposals into a comparison you can use. Ask what is missing, what changes the total cost and what each option means for your team.

  • Comparable scopes and costs
  • Documented questions and assumptions
  • A reasoned recommendation
04 / COORDINATE

Keep the decisions connected.

Work across the owner, designers, vendors, contractors and program partners. Track open questions, clarify commitments and document the effect of changes.

  • Clear responsibility for follow-up
  • Reviewable changes and credits
  • Recorded decisions and next steps
05 / PREPARE

Plan for the people who inherit it.

Connect the agreed project work to the operating team. Depending on the engagement, that can include staffing plans, training, startup coordination, procedures and a practical handoff.

  • Operational readiness
  • Staff and partner handoffs
  • Usable plans and records
A FEE STRUCTURE THAT FITS THE WORK

Clear scope.
No guesswork about the arrangement.

Some jobs need a defined package. Others need flexible advice as decisions develop. We agree on the pricing method before the work begins.

FIXED-FEE PROJECTS

A price for agreed deliverables.

Useful for a defined bid review, planning study, website or workflow-tool build. The quote identifies the scope, assumptions, review rounds and what is included.

HOURLY CONSULTING

Flexibility as the need develops.

Useful for discovery, targeted advice or coordination where the effort is not yet predictable. Agree on the rate, expected effort and review points.

A COMBINATION

A defined core. Room for change.

Start with hourly discovery, move to a fixed package, or pair a scoped project with ongoing support. Additional work is reviewed and priced before proceeding.

Need help with one decision?
Start there.

A focused bid review or planning question can be its own engagement. A larger project may need continuing coordination. We define the right scope together.

BEFORE WE TALK

A few useful
starting questions.

You can bring us a decision, an unfinished idea or a process that needs to work better.

Who will work on our project?

Seth and Barb provide partner leadership, supported by consultants in food safety, leadership, grant writing and administration, training, contract analysis and distribution. We identify the project lead, specialist roles and responsibilities in the scope so you know who is doing what.

Do we need a complete project plan first?

No. Discovery can be the first engagement. We can help define the need, available information, constraints and next decisions before a larger scope is priced.

Can you help with just one bid, menu or website?

Yes. A focused review or defined deliverable can stand on its own. We agree on the work, review rounds, fee and handoff before proceeding.

How do you work with our designers and vendors?

We bring the operating requirements and owner’s priorities into the conversation, coordinate questions and clarify responsibilities. Technical design, approvals and construction stay with the responsible professionals.

What should we bring to the first conversation?

Your goals, timing, the decision you need to make and whatever is available: a menu, bid, layout, operating figures, spreadsheet or current website. Missing information becomes part of the scoping discussion.

What if the work changes after we agree on a package?

We review the effect on deliverables, effort, price and timing before additional work proceeds. A fixed package and approved hourly work can be combined when that fits the project.
